HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF OoTY-
The hills of the Nilgiris reffered to the Chera empire under the Ganga dynasty and the Hoysala empire. It is later being ruled by King Vishnuvardhana. Tipu Sultan of the Kingdom of Mysore was next to rule. John Sullivan was the governor of Coimbatore has ruled during British reign. He liked the climate and natural beauty. The British Raj made the region by contributing to efforts of development. Ooty becoming the summer residence of the Madras Presidency. - Reach Coimbatore early in the morning and get a bus to Ooty. Head to Avalanche lake is a fun destination for trekking, camping and kayaking.
